All rooms were completely refurbished and the motel reopened in 2018. New paint, vinyl plank flooring and furniture was added in December of 2021
Each room offers Dish Network with flat-screen televisions, a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee pot, free coffee, new tankless water heaters where you will always get a hot shower, LED lighting, touch keypad locks, and comfortable beds.
Beach access is available from your room by heading East towards the State Ferry terminal and accessing the walking path to the beach or you can cross the street to Driftwood Drive which will dead end at the public boat ramp. The beach is amazing with quartz sand that won't burn your feet, shallow waters, no riptide, spectacular views, and perfect for the kids and pets to swim virtually any time. Oh, and at any given time, you may have the Outer Banks Wild Spanish Horses or some free-range cattle come pay you a visit!
The Bay Breeze restaurant offers delicious, local seafood and a full bar for your dining pleasure steps from your campsite or motel room & is typically open for lunch & dinner.
Boating access is available from either our private boat ramp which launches into Cedar Island Bay or through the NC State boat ramp which launches into Pamlico Sound. Both ramps can get you to deep water access and the Atlantic Ocean.

Fishing is available on the property as well as all around us. Our most common catches are Speckled Trout, Flounder, Red Drum, Mackerel, Blue Fish, and Mullet. Charters are available in the area at great rates through local guides or you can find a great spot onshore or wade into the sound to catch dinner. An NC fishing license is required unless you are fishing with a charter guide.
Crabbing, clamming, and catching local shrimp can be a fun way to spend your day and is a popular event.
Horseback riding on the beach is an awesome experience with either our 60 or 90 minute rides offered at our Outer Banks Riding Stables. Book by phone only at 252-515-9441 or stop in the Visitor Center for more information!
A new gazebo was recently added across from the restaurant with bench seating and a great view of Cedar Island Bay, offering a great place for our guests to eat lunch or dinner outside.
Horseshoe pit, volleyball court, and corn hole are also available at no cost to all resort guests.

Coin laundry is located in our rear motel building with 2 coin washers, 2 dryers, and a folding table for your convenience. Change and detergent is available in the Visitor Center during business hours.
The Visitor Center, office & Gift Shop have been moved to 120 Driftwood Drive at the entrance of the campground. We offer ice, firewood, bug spray, suntan lotion, shirts, hats, beach & swimming accessories, and other vacation essentials. It is open from 9m-6pm through October 9th, 2021. Hours are reduced from October 10 th through Easter Weekend.
Pet-Friendly beach and campground. The motel rooms also offers some pet friendly and available for a nightly fee. There is also a new dog park right across the street in the campground.
We are conveniently located at the Cedar Island Ferry where you can walk on, take your bikes or car to visit Ocracoke Island, and the other Outer Banks Islands for a day of exploring.
