On the North side of the property you can walk to the beach where there is a walking path to the left side of the ferry office. The beach is amazing with quartz sand that won’t burn your feet, shallow waters, no rip tide, spectacular views and perfect for the kids and pets to swim virtually any time. Oh and at any given time you may have the Outer Banks Wild Spanish Horses or some free range cattle come pay you a visit.
  • Have adult beverages, soft drinks and meals delivered right to your door or to the beach with our delivery service from Sharky’s.
  • Boating access is available from either our private boat ramp which launches in to Cedar Island Bay or through the NC State boat ramp which launches in to Pamlico Sound. Both ramps can get you to deep water access and the Atlantic Ocean.
  • Rent canoes and kayaks on site from the rental office and spend an amazing day paddling through Cedar Island Bay on your own private eco tour where you can search for the Outer Banks Wild Spanish Horses.
  • Golf cart rentals by the hour, day or week available in the rental office. Take your golf cart directly to your own private area on the beach and spend the day.
  • Fishing is available on the property as well as all around us. Our most common catches are Speckled Trout, Flounder, Red Drum, Mackerel, Blue Fish, and Mullet. We offer guided charters at great rates through our Visitor Center or you can find a great spot on shore or wade in to the sound to catch dinner. An NC fishing license is required unless you are fishing with a charter guide.
  • Crabbing, clamming and oysters can also be caught throughout the island waters and is a popular event.
  • The horse barn at Cedar Island Stables houses our 12 trail horses. You can pet them from outside the fences but please do not feed them and always have your children under 15 supervised by an adult at all times. We offer trail beach rides all year around so just check with the Visitor Center for availability and ride times. Our horse barn has also been totally redone and now has a small boat and RV storage area in the front.
